about Me

My interest in our job market grew when my 25-year-old son moved back to New Zealand from Australia. Over six months, he secured just one interview. Despite all the advice I gave him, such as using ChatGPT, trying the traditional method of personally handing in his CV, and tailoring his resume and cover letter to the job description, he still had no success and received little to no response. I realised the struggle was real; he was not alone. How can you compete against 300 other applicants?
How do you stand out?
I spent the next 12 months researching our job market as it is today. During that period, I realised that your resume may never reach a real person. A smile and a handshake meant little; the digital age was upon us. It’s not your well-crafted resume submission alone that lands you the job.

I would love to hear your story.
